Henry Kissinger, a prominent Harvard professor, worked as an advisor for New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller and the Kennedy administration before being appointed National Security Advisor by President Nixon.

Kissinger led the negotiations with North Vietnam's Le Duc Tho in Paris from their onset until the peace settlement was signed in 1973. He was later appointed Secretary of State, keeping that job through the Ford Administration.
