The Family of David Sage

The linear descendants of David Sage leading to our family are as follows:

David Sage, native of Wales, born 1639, one of the first settlers of Middletown, Connecticut, 1652.
Married Elizabeth Kirby, daughter of John Kirby: 3 children. When Elizabeth died David married Mary Wilcox, with whom he had 3 more children

Jonathan, born 1674, son of David Sage and Mary Wilcox, married Anna Bodwell, 4 children.

Jonathan, born 1711, son of Jonathan and Anna, married Hannah Gibson, 4 sons and 5 daughters.

Moses, Captain, born 1754, married Susannah Haviland. A tanner, Moses moved to Bennington, Vermont, and was present at the Battle of Bennington. Moses and Susannah had 4 sons and 5 daughters.

Isaac, born 1771, married Sally Childs, daughter of Major Jonathan Childs and Deliverance Freeman. Isaac and Sally had 5 sons and 2 daughters.

Orrin, Rev., born 1805, married Elizabeth Berry, 7 sons, 1 daughter. Daughter Helen married Thornton Hinkle of Cincinnati. The Sages and Hinkles intermarried later as well. (In some records it is spelled Henkel, but it seems to be the same family.)

Henry Ward, born 1830, married Elizabeth Hinkle, 1 son, 2 daughters.

Henry Judson, born 1866. Married Clara Belle Fry, daughter of Henry Clay Fry. 1 son, Donald Henry, born 1893.

Donald Henry, born 1893, married Agnes Quay Davidson, 4 children. Divorced, married Mary Eloise Hoctor, daughter of Timothy Hoctor and Elizabeth Kearny. 1 son, 1 daughter.
